For the 14th version of the competition, nearly 17,000 samples of wine were evaluated by a select panel of more than 200 experts from around the world.<\/p>\n<p>In this edition of the competition, the 2016 Arboleda Pinot Noir, a wine that expresses the pure and authentic character of its Aconcagua Costa terroir, was named the best of its category and received the maximum distinction\u2014a Platinum Medal\u2014and the title \u201c<strong>Best Pinot Noir from Chile\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Moreover, in the latest report on Chilean wines, the renowned US critic James Suckling once again highlighted the freshness and elegance of the 2016 Pinot Noir. He gave it 93 points and described it saying: <em>\u201cThis is a very special Arboleda with lifted nose of flower, strawberry and iodine. Moss. Medium body, lively finish. Lovely<\/em><em> the finish. Lightly decadent. Beautiful.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Suckling tasted more than 800 labels during his fifth trip to Chile and wrote in his article that the Aconcagua Costa appellation <em>\u201cmakes excellent Pinot Noir with a purity of fruit comparable to the pinots from California or South Australia and a structure and freshness comparable to Burgundy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This exceptional wine is 100% Pinot Noir from the Chilhu\u00e9 Vineyard in Aconcagua Costa, just 12 kilometres from the Pacific Ocean, where the soil is formed over metamorphic (volcanic) rocks such as schist and slate that combine with the influence of the cool coastal climate to produce unique grapes for Arboleda wines.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other International Recognitions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>James Suckling<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #a7944e;\">94 pts.<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #a7944e;\">Arboleda, Syrah\u00a02015<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<em><strong><span style=\"color: #a7944e;\">D.O. Aconcagua Costa<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cA fruitier style of Sauvignon with sliced lime and hints of grass. Fennel too. Full body, rich and round style. Valle de Aconcagua<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cPretty currant, cedar, and tobacco character to this. Medium body, chewy and tannic with juicy finish.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Decanter World Wine Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Arboleda Sauvignon Blanc 2016 awarded with a Gold Medal in the Decanter World Wine Awards 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The British magazine Decanter, one of the most renowned wine publications with subscribers in 92 countries, scored with 95 points and a Gold Medal to Arboleda Sauvignon Blanc 2016 in the Decanter World Wine Awards 2017. The awards this competition gives each year, set a guideline in the wine industry and among consumers worldwide.
